My name is Ingebjørg, the ø is pronounced like the u in the word fur. Obviously, I’m not from around here. I grew up in a tiny, tiny town in the middle of the fjords and mountains in Norway. I always wanted to be a vet, but focused more on my love for music in high school so I had to take an alternative route to the veterinary profession. This is when I was introduced to the vet nurse role and as soon as I started my bachelor’s I decided that working as a vet nurse would be more fitting for me. I graduated in 2022 and haven’t looked back. Because of my fear of growing up, I did a year working for Mickey Mouse in Disney world, Florida from 2017-2018, which opened up the world to me and after working for four years in Oslo I remembered that moving overseas is actually possible. I found this lovely clinic through a website looking for veterinary professionals to come and work in NZ, and since Paula replied right away, it felt like it was meant to be. I’m so happy to be in a country with such rich and diverse nature, interesting culture and (most of the time) nice weather! On my free time you can catch me driving around in my very cool white car and exploring everything this country and especially Northland has to offer.
