We have the full range of haematology, biochemistry and urinalysis laboratory equipment. Your pet’s blood can be rapidly analysed to identify a wide range of illnesses such as anaemia, kidney disease, thyroid disorders, diabetes and many more.
Our Animal Wellness Plans all include annual blood testing, which helps us identify the unique ‘normal values’ for your pet and pick up on diseases early. Most tests can be run immediately, and we have results within 20-30 minutes.
We now have available the Idexx InVue cytology analyser. This equipment allows us to assess ear swabs and complex blood smears. We can process ear swabs in 8 minutes during a consultation which allows us to know what microbes are affecting your pet's ears and so choose the most suitable treatment. I also allows us to check the treatment has worked.
Our 'Coag' equipment can identify very rapidly if your dog has eaten rat bait or has another clotting disorder. A vital diagnostic in treating life threatening diseases.
For more challenging cases we have access to consultant laboratory pathologists, who will evaluate blood results free of charge when we need that next level of specialisation.
