When we consider the lifespan of our pets, once they reach ‘senior’ age then a 6 monthly check is equivalent to a person getting a medical check-up once every 3 years. Regular pet health checks can pick up on conditions such as heart failure or diabetes before any signs appear.

Golden Oldies plan is recommended for dogs aged over 7-10 years (depending on breed) and cats over 12 years.

What's Included:

• Annual vaccinations for Dogs: Parvo, Distemper, Canine infectious hepatitis, Leptospirosis and Kennel Cough.
• Annual vaccinations for Cats: Feline Panleukopenia (feline Parvo) Cat Flu, FIV Feline Immunodeficiency virus.
• All consultations
• Annual blood and urine testing. This includes our full health profile to check kidney, liver and general health, and haematology to check the immune system blood system health. In addition, we check thyroid levels in our elderly patients. Urine testing examines kidney and bladder health.
• All nurse consultations and nurse checks eg post-surgery checks, dental checks etc
• 4 nail trims a year

Cost:

Cost of plan $550/ year or $55 first payment followed by 11 monthly payments of $45.

Senior pets on long term medication may transition to our ‘Pill Plan’.

For the average ‘senior’ pet, that is regularly treated for fleas and worms and has an appropriate diet and dental care, you will save between $250 and $500, per year, depending on the size of your pet and the extent of products and services that you use.
