Donna is a bit of a local celebrity and many of you will already know her as the founder and hard work behind Donna Doolittle’s Animal Rescue.
Donna came from a background of 14 years in the hospitality industry, originally practicing as a chef then advancing into the management of several hospitality businesses throughout Auckland.
In 2012 she made a drastic career change and went on to study Veterinary Nursing. Once graduated she moved her family from Auckland to the Far North where she worked in a busy mixed practice for 8 years; going on to further her education in Rural Technology. In 2018 she established a successful non-profit registered charity Donna Doolittle Animal Rescue Kaitaia.
In 2020 Donna started employment at an Elderly home that practices Eden Philosophy in the Far North where she worked with dementia residents, using her animals in her rescue for therapy. After a year's break from working in a veterinary practice, she is excited to return to her true passion of veterinary nursing.
