Paula Grant BVM&S

Paula qualified from Edinburgh university in 1990, and started life as a vet in rural mixed practice on the beautiful island of Islay, where she learnt to do cow caesarians in driving hail, treat golden eagles and drink whisky. Several years later with a couple of kids in tow, she bought this practice and expanded the services and shop.

In 2004 with 5 kids in tow she and her husband moved to the Limousin region of France where they bought a beef and sheep farm, ran a tipi and yurt campsite, and Paula worked as a vet, where she learnt that Limousin cows can prolapse very easily, French farmers get excited very easily, and red wine can solve most things.

In 2014 with 6 kids in tow, she and her husband moved to Raglan where Paula took up a position as clinical lead of the Anexa FVC Raglan clinic. Here she learnt that Kiwi farmers are considerably more open-minded than their French counterparts, New Zealand is the place she had been looking for her whole life, but unfortunately, the whisky and red wine are quite expensive!

Having lived in the Far North for 5 years, Paula now wants to offer a new range of services and high-quality care to the diverse population of our area.
